About Salt Coast

A small crew, by design.

Salt Coast looks after homes that live with the ocean. Painting is the heart of what we do, alongside washing, rust and salt-damage work and the recurring care that keeps it all holding. We started it because coastal WA homes were being maintained like inland ones, and failing years early for it. We specify for where your house actually sits, and we stand behind it in writing.

How we think

Three things we don't compromise

Specified, not guessed

Every system is matched to the surface and its exposure. We do not carry one product and use it everywhere.

Preparation first

Most of a coastal job is the work you never see. We spend our time there, because that is where the finish is won or lost.

The same hands throughout

The person who quotes your home is the person who paints it. Nothing is passed down a chain to whoever is cheapest.

Why the coast is harder

A home near the water isn't a home in town

Most work near the ocean fails early for one reason: it was specified as though the house sat ten kilometres inland. Salt carried off the water settles into timber, sits beneath coatings and pulls moisture from the air long after everything else has dried.

Australia has a standard that measures this, AS 4312, which grades how corrosive a location is. The closer you sit to breaking surf, the higher the grade, and the more your preparation and coating system have to account for it. We specify for the corrosivity category your home actually falls in. That is the whole point of the business.

Who you'll deal with

Senior painters, start to finish

Salt Coast is part of Exit Forward Holdings, a Western Australian business group, so a small specialist trade is backed by the systems and standards of a larger company, rather than a one-season operator here today and gone next winter.

We keep the team small on purpose. The people who assess your home are accountable for the work, the site stays tidy, and you are never handed off to a subcontractor who never saw the quote.

  • Senior painters only, no labour hire
  • Registered, licensed and fully insured
  • Written workmanship guarantee on every project
  • One point of contact, start to finish
After the first job

We don't disappear once the paint dries

The coast keeps working on a home long after we leave. The way we keep finishes performing is to come back, on a schedule, and catch the small things before they turn into expensive ones. It is why most of our work is for homeowners we already look after.
